[My Times, My Voice] A Wednesday- best shot by Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah: The climax is an absolute knock-out with an accolade-winning speech by Naseer who becomes a flag-bearer for all those nameless, ordinary people battling with this modern-day scourge, the world over. The highpoint of the film is the class act by the two stalwarts of the industry: Naseer and Anupam pitch in riveting performances as the shuffling, seemingly inconsequential, nameless bomber and the no-nonsense cop.

[DearCinema] A Wednesday: Watch It! | DearCinema: World Cinema, Film Reviews ...: That intensity in voice, that anger in eyes, those frail expressions of a middle-class existence in Mumbai are so apparent in Naseer’s interpretation that you want to see more of him. And if the claps of audience in the theaters are anything to go by, the country’s finest actor hits you really hard during his outburst in the climax of ‘A Wednesday.’
[Countercurrents.org] A Wednesday- Making Fools Of Us All By Ashley Tellis: That we are expected to buy into this extremely dangerous nationalism and that this violence on the Muslim is done in our name (the name of the collective, nameless, ordinary citizens, 'common men') shows that we have lost our collective mind (the audience in the theatres dutifully clapping at all the jingoistic claptrap that the character played by Naseeruddin Shah spouts, the critical acclaim for this openly communal film (its anti-Muslimness barely concealed by the flimsy mask of the 'common man' chicanery) shows that we are indeed stupid, common people. We buy into all the lies that the Indian nation-state, the Hindi film industry and the media wants us to believe.
[PassionForCinema] A wednesday - a 90 minute thriller -really. | PassionforCinema: In short, I was liking it while watching but after the film was finished this satisfaction was there a better thriller came this year and its certainly better than all other thrillers released in recent times but good things of film had increased the expecatations and by the end many expectations could not be fulfilled and one major expectation was to get a burning conflict between Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher’s performances but it was missing. It does not turn out to be Heat or even The Jackal or Schakal.

[Indian Muslims] Khuda Ke Liye | Indian Muslims: [...] Mirza Faisal likes some of the lines in the movie: The best dialogues in the movie have been written for Maulana Wali and Naseeruddin Shah delivers them as good they could be. On Mariam taunting him that it does not matter whether he does his namaz before or after as it is just an exercise, he is amused and politely replies ”meri ibaadat ko exercise kahne wali ya to bahut pahunchi hui hai ya bahut dukhi hai” (The one who describes my worship as exercise is either spiritually very elevated or is very sad).

[Sachiniti] Of Slumdog Millionaire, Oscars And India « Sachiniti: At the end of our brief conversation, I said: “I hope this will be the year for the big one.” My reference was to the Nobel Prize. He laughed and said: “Do you know Dr Mashelkar, you have to be 10 times as good to win the Nobel Prize if you are an Indian!” In the same year, in October 1998, the Nobel Prize for Economics was declared.
[Indian Muslims] The “Angry Hindus” And The Muslims | Indian Muslims: And another point, hindus in rural areas too suffer from backwardness, as it is evident from girl child getting married at an early age, killing of girl infants, unncessary and ridiculous superstitious practices, but we don’t go blaming muslims for the shortcomings and faults that lie within our religion. The only way we can remove such ill-effects from society is by working together in solving these problems rather than playing the blame game just like the politicians do…With your article you seem to be word-mouthing the politicians and propagating diffferences than analytically pointing out the facts and means to solve the problems.
